10K Day for Writers: RSVP Page for Thursday, August 13

I’m posting the RSVP page early this time so everyone will know the date for the next event. — Milli

WANT TO HAVE tons of fun, hang out with a bunch of other writers and challenge yourself to break some mental writing barriers? Good. Then you’ve come to the right place.

If you’d like to join us for the next 10K Day, you can start here by posting your RSVP in the Comments section below.

Next step is to prepare yourself ahead of time so you’ll have the best experience possible. Please read the prep material in RELATED TOPICS below. You’ll find more 10K Day support info in the sidebar of this blog.

WHERE TO GO TO PARTICIPATE ON AUGUST 13

To participate, return to this blog on the morning of August 13. (Each writer determines his/her own start time.) You’ll find a special post called 10K Day: Live While It’s Happening and that’s where you’ll be making your check-ins.

The Live, While It’s Happening post will give you quick pointers on what to post for check-ins, as well as lots of helpful resources—in case you need more ideas to write about (or in case you get fear of writing and need some help to get unblocked).

Please leave your RSVP/comments below.

See you on August 13! ~ Milli

I'm digging there. Therefore, I'll be participating AGAIN on August 13th 😉

Rats! I just found out I missed 16 July's 10K—I'll be here for 13 August!

Count me in too. I am loving this and I have an excuse to be rude to everyone. "Leave me alone, I'm creating!"

    I'm totally in!

If nothing comes up (and there's no reason to think anything will, but that's why they call them "emergencies," I guess), I'll be here to try for a word count way beyond 10K again! 😀

Wish I could have gone for 15K in July, but it just wasn't in the cards for me. We shall see what happens on August 13! 😉

Hey Mills. This is Dee Dee. I am taking the day off work to join y'all. I also have given the info to my friend Susan in England.

Oh my! I haven't been back to RSVP since comments weren't working the first time I tried.

I'll be here, unless, like Lois said, that emergency thing shows up. But they aren't allowed.

Hi, I'm Susan, Dee's friend from England, and I am looking forward to this exciting event.

I'm game to try this…I work on Aug 13, but I'll see what I can churn out before and after, and maybe on my micro-lunch break (I only get 30 min). I'll use this time to work on the novel I'm writing–I need one more big push to the end so I can begin editing.

Can't wait! That's the day my kids go back to school. Maybe I can actually get it done this time!

What a great idea. I'll be there (I'm a day ahead in Australia and Thurs suits me better than Friday but will check in on the US 13th to provide a progress report), working on my 2nd novel — need to prioritise it and this is a cool way of doing it. Thank you Milli!

This is such a great idea, Milli. I'm in. Officially. (Using the AA analogy, I think this makes you my sponsor. Don't be nervous!);)

Didn't do stupendously great on the June 10K day and didn't do the July day at all because of wedding week, but now my daughter is married off so I can be supremely self-oriented and take the day to do nothing but write! I'll sign myself as Texas Susan to keep from getting confused with Dee's friend, also Susan, in England. Or, Milli, maybe it's time for Captain Jacquelyn Sparrow, Herbal Pirate Queen of the Caribbean to re-assert herself.

OK, y'all–Milli said I should do this. "Texas Susan" is now somewhat officially Captain Jacquelyn Sparrow, Herbal Pirate Queen of the Caribbean. Hmmm, just typing it makes me want to go put on more eyeliner. Maybe I should forget my keyboard and try writing with my Maybelline instead.

I'm going to try it. This should be fun and productive.

Love your post Susan, now dubbed Captain Jacquelyn Sparrow!

Milli, I'm like Patti & Lois. I'll be here unless there's an emergency or storms. Looking forward to it!
