Percolations, an anthology
A group of writers in the Hill Country of Texas (near San Antonio) has proudly produced their own Fear of Writing anthology. The group was formed in 2005 after Milli presented the Fear of Writing Clinic in Canyon Lake, TX. The group still meets each week in various places, including the original location of Chicki’s Coffee Shop in Bulverde.
The six authors of Percolations: Musings from a Texas Hill Country Coffee Shop met on November 15 to welcome our collaborative collection of Fear of Writing short stories and poems, as well as other writings from our members. Our “touching party” for the book was a tremendous thrill.
Our inspiration was the writing circle formed in Chicki’s several years ago by Milli Thornton. Milli eventually moved out of state but, despite her absence, the group stayed together. We meet every Tuesday and write stories and laugh and cry together. We’ve shared so much of ourselves our group has become a tightly-knit friendship.

We would never have met if Milli had not started a local group for wayward closet writers. Fear of Writing tucks you in like a warm blanket. Here there is no criticism, judgment or damnation. No fear, just write. Never doubt that you are a genius and everything you write is fantastic! That’s the way Milli makes you feel. And because of that the creative juices flow. And freedom of expression spews from your pores.
Thank you Milli for years of encouragement and support. Percolations would have never been written if it weren’t for you.
