WELCOME TO ALL those plucky writers who are participating this week!
This is the place to post your check-ins for Wed., June 22 and/or Saturday, June 25.
To learn more about this event, check the 10K Day section (see blog menu above).
DON’T FORGET TO TAKE REGULAR BREAKS!
You’ll regret it later (when you’re feeling fried) if you don’t take regular breaks. Even if you’re on fire with your writing, take your scheduled breaks.
Every two hours is recommended. Breaks are also for posting check-ins.
WHAT SHOULD YOU POST FOR YOUR CHECK-INS?
TIP: If you don’t see your comment right away after posting, try refreshing your screen.
1. You can mention your word count if you want to. If you’d rather not, please provide a general comment about your progress thus far.
2. You can also describe what you’re working on.
3. Feel free to mention how you’re feeling and how the day is going for you.
4. It’s always fun to hear what people are drinking, snacking on or listening to.
DON’T FORGET TO log out of forums, Facebook, Twitter, email, etc.
Go gettum, Tigers! – Milli
Boy, I’m craving some chocolate about now. 😀 M&M’s no less.
I didn’t eat the pizza. 🙁 Instead had leftovers of red beans and rice with onion, green pepper and shredded beef added. Good stuff!
I went back and worked on my lit. project a bit more to get setteled in from lunch. I’m really wanting a nap about now and the critters aren’t helping. 🙂
And the kitten has crawled into my open bookbag and gone to sleep. 🙂
*Awww* cute!
And it’s right at 100 degrees out. YUCK!
Lucky! It’s so cold here still… I miss summer!
Right now I’d swap. I don’t handle heat very well. 🙁
I’m glad to read you’re all doing well, wishing you many words to come!
By now I managed to become completely incapable of editing a simple piece… I think that’s the cue for “I’m done for today” 🙂
I haven’t achieved my goal, but I have written a couple of poems, rough drafts for flash fiction pieces and a couple for blog posts.
Thank you for all the cheering on, I can’t wait for the next 10k Day(s)!
Glad to hang out with ya! 🙂 Great job on getting the poems and rough drafts accomplished! Hope to catch ya next month. 🙂

I’m at 2521 and ready for another break.
Well, I’m a late riser and after breakfast and a shower… I’m finally ready to start. It’s only 3 pm here, though, so I’ve got plenty of time, right? 😀

Hi Genji! Yep, we’ve got scads of time, especially if you write till midnight or beyond. 😀
~ Milli
I think my day is done. I didn’t get as much as I wanted accomplished but working on two different projects in one day is good for me. 🙂 I’ve had fun hanging out with everyone. Hope you have a good rest of the day! 🙂

Goodonya, Maria! So pleased to hear you had fun. See ya next time.
🙂
Checking in and doing more work on plotting than writing. I’m okay with it since I tried writing but realized I needed to straighten out a few things first.
After this break, I’ll continue with this plan and get some writing done.
Happy writing all!

Crystal, I agree. Sometimes we just need to get our heads on straight before we start writing. And recognizing what phase of the process we’re in can be so helpful.
Happy writing to you too. 🙂

Throwing in the towel at 3005 words. Learned a ton about what does and doesn’t work for me, so thanks for that! Lots of notes for next time.

Taryn, 3005 is a great result!
I’m curious to hear more about what you learned. If you’d like to do a guest blog post about that for FoW, I’d be very interested.

I’d love to. Thank you! I’ve only just discovered your site, so I’ll need to read a good number of posts and get a feel for the vibe here. What sort of timeline did you have in mind?
Twitter: fearofwriting
Great, Taryn! I think that will make a fantastic guest post. 🙂
How about a Friday sometime soon – either July 8 or July 15?
Here’s a link to our guest blogger invitation. At the bottom of the guidelines you’ll find some links to posts that can help you get a good feel for us. Also, feel free to run anything by me as you plan or write the post. You’ll find my email address on the Contact Us page.

The 15th sounds great.

Thanks, Taryn. I’ve got you in our posting schedule for the 15th. 🙂
1,436. It’s been really slow going for me. I’m not complaining too loudly, though, since I’m learning a lot about some of my characters and events. I’ve even been getting some goosebumps realizing that this character betrayed that one and oh, that’s how that other character came into things… Hehehe. I don’t know how much more I’m going to get before midnight my time, but it’s more than I’ve written in a while!

Awesome, Genji! I think the “more than I’ve written in a while” bonus is a great motive for doing a 10K Day.
I love it that your characters are showing their true colors to you. I got goose bumps just reading about it!
Happy travels. You’re doing great! ~ Milli
Well, I managed 1,616 today, and I think it’s a project that might deserve some further work, so definitely time well-spent! Thanks for doing these 10K days!
Twitter: fearofwriting
Hooray for 1,616 words! I’m very glad you found the time well-spent. 🙂 🙂
I’ve got you on my list of writers to tweet reminders to when next month’s 10K Days roll around.
Thanks so much for adding FoW to your blogroll! Much appreciated.
