3. Feel free to mention how you’re feeling and how the day is going for you.

4. It’s always fun to hear what people are drinking, snacking on or listening to.

Morning everybody! So so so excited for today! I’ll wait for my partner go to work and then I’ll start! I’m working on a book to send to a competition but my time is limited before the deadline so I’m going to use today to write a good long part! My previous record during NaNoWriMo last year was over 4 thousands words. Let’s see if I can at least beat that!!!

It’s 12:58pm over here and I just managed to finally sit down to write. Have informed everyone they should leave me alone for the rest of the day (I really don’t ask for much, only two days…) 🙂

I’ll be working on some blog posts first as I have quite a few ideas, some started and some needing last touches in editing.
Let’s see if I’ll slowly graduate up to the poems I started last night and some flash ideas that I’d love to develop.

    Hi folks,

Today has not started well, in fact it feels as though circumstances are against me today. But almost everything is ready for me to start my first 45min session which I’m hoping will produce my next article for Millivers Travels. Got a variety of stuff that I can work on today in case I can’t get into one project there’s plenty more to be doing.

    Good luck to everyone!

Article complete and winging it’s way to Milli as we speak!
Word count stands at 1365. Think I’m going to start on some character studies to boost the word count quicker as the article needed a lot of fact checking.

I’ll work on a new article first, and no real direction after that, but I’m sure I’ll find something.

My soundtrack for the day seems to be anything by Vangelis, Immediate or Enigma, very few lyrics to distract me just good evocative music.

Hope that word-arse is getting a serious kicking 🙂

    Good morning all!

Looks like there are lots of new people this time ’round. Very cool! 🙂 I’m looking forward to hanging out with everyone.

I plan to participate today and Saturday, if all goes well, though neither will be on a full-day basis. It’s the first of the school year and I have tons of paperwork to take care of for my son’s school as well as insurance and docs. yay 😉

What will I work on? I have a blog post to draft (already have the pics picked out) and I’d like to continue working on my Camp NaNo story. So there’s plenty to do. Hope everyone has a good time and write on!

I think it’s always helpful to have a couple of options to work on, sometimes trying to force your mind to work on one thing can be totally unproductive so trying something else for a while can bring you back refreshed.

I’m working on my fantasy anthology…the backstories for my characters from my The Rogues of Redwick fantasy books I’ll be writing. The first story is about Ronen, a Seraph.

At the moment, I’m drinking water, and that’s it. If I reach my goal of 5K by 3:30, I plan to make myself a decaf double cappuccino with a dash of cinnamon and cardamom. 🙂

First Break: Just added 2,209 words to my fantasy, finishing Ronen’s story. YAY! Now, I’m moving on to Chali, the Cave Elf (although, I think Tunnel Elf would be a better name…or Black Elf…or even Deep Elf, as she comes from the Underworld).

I write just about anything that interests me. I even have a series of stories planned with Will Scarlet as the hero! 😀 I also have some vampire stories, some action/adventures stories, a romance with elements of the paranormal in it, etc. I can’t stick to just one genre. LOL

Wow that’s too nice really! I’d like to be like this! I love fantasy and I’m a bit worried because I’m just stuck in that genre. Dunno yet if the reason is the huge project I have in my head or if because I’m not able to write something else!!! Dunno, but for the moment every time I try something else it’s not very nice!

The more you write them, the better you’ll get. You could start with prompts (like Milli’s Fear of Writing prompts). If those don’t get you writing other kinds of stories, I don’t know what will! 😛

I’m having a slow day so far too. It’s okay though. I have more written than I would if I hadn’t made today a writing day.

YaY for getting your newsletter article done.

Thanks Taryn 🙂 That’s kinda how I feel too. 1300 is still 200 more than all of yesterday so I’m pretty pleased.

3189 words so far. Pretty happy with it, the story is really taking shape. It’s not quite finished, I don’t have the ending yet, but it’s good work already. I’ll go out for a drink with friends now and might try to write some more tonight when I come back.
If I don’t, I am happy with what I have done so far anyway.

It’s 9:39 pm here. I don’t think I’ll write anymore today. Still haven’t eaten yet and have quite a bit of packing left to do, and tomorrow we leave at 8am, so that’ll be it for today. Still, happy with it. good luck everyone!! And thanks for the encouragements and the cheering! 🙂

I finished a total of blog 7 posts ( words) which makes me so happy to finally be ahead for a while with them.
It’s already past 10pm over here, so I have to stop writing not even though I still have things I need to finish – but I’ll work on those on Saturday.

Thanks for the wonderful company everyone!
Wishing you many more words and see you Saturday 🙂

Back is killing me now, so I’d call it a day! I’m pretty satisfied with the result! I have a new record! 5331 words! Thanks to everybody!
I think I’ll see you on Saturday! Night night!

    I reached my goal of 5K! 😀

Final word count for the day: 5,229
Story’s word count, so far: 12,479 (it will be less on the Camp Nanowrimo Web site, though, as OpenOffice tends to bloat the word count). Instead of going with Chali, I decided to write Xain’s story. He’s a Black Elf, also from the Underworld (both he and Chali are from the same area, but she’s a bit younger than he is).

And now I’m having a plum and some gluten-free rice crackers. I’m about to fix myself a decaf double cappuccino, too. That’s my reward. 🙂

Then, time to role play for a bit! 😀

What a day it’s been. I’ve got over 4200 words written so I’m hoping to hit 5k today.

Considering I had phone convos with my agent and an editor in the middle of the day about a completely unrelated project, I’m thrilled with my progress.

So inspiring to see the work everyone’s done!

I’m beat! Got my 2 PLR articles written so that makes a total of 2360 words so far. My son just came in from work so I’m taking a break until he leaves again and then I’ll have about 3 more hours of alone time to write tonight.

It’s almost 7:00 p.m. I just finished up another plr article for a pack I’m working on. I think I’m calling it a day.

    I don’t have a word count, but that’s 4 articles today. Not bad, I’ll take it. 🙂

Everyone did a great job! We kicked some word arse! Yay!

Since my couch has been taken over by my college girl (she starts back to school next week) and my hubby was sleeping, I ended up writing another article. Yay!

Another big day tomorrow. Better get some rest.

Thanks to some help from Patti, I’ve finally got the html problem worked out and I’m happy with the one blog post and tweaking I’ve done on my website.

Looks like pretty much everybody has had a productive and fun writing day. Awesome!

I hope to be back on Saturday to work on the blog post I had originally planned to draft today. Looking forward to seeing the rest of you either then or on the next Wed. 10K.

    Write On! 🙂

Hope no-one will begrudge me getting a sneaky couple of extra hours in today. I won’t finish work til 3am and have to be back at 7pm so I know I won’t get much writing time tomorrow.
If this is considered against the rules, I won’t count today’s words tomorrow.

    Have fun everyone.

Definitely not against the rules! Are you kidding? We love anything that helps writers get more writing done (and enjoy themselves while doing it).

I’m thrilled that you like the 10K Day format enough to sneak in some extra time when you can. That’s exactly in keeping with the spirit of this game. 😀

Slow start today, I’m still basically asleep… (stayed up way too late to finish reading a book) 😉

It’s 12:13pm over here, and I’m just about to edit some photos I’ll use in some posts and articles. Today I’ll be focusing on finishing the blog posts and articles I didn’t have time for on Wednesday and so far it seems like there will be minimum interruptions. Hope it stays that way 🙂

    Happy writing everyone!

      I’m sure you will, Franny!

I just finished the draft of an article, and decided to take a break for lunch now. I’m so proud of the article as I only have to add some minor details while editing it (later or tomorrow, depends on how the rest of my writing day goes).

Wow, good job! I think I’ll get a break soon because I need to do some errands! But I’m pretty happy as I’ve done one scene!!! I think the second part of the book will be written a bit faster than the fist! Maye because all the characters and the facts are all there, I just need to blend all the ingredients! Fingers crossed!

    Good Morning,

I had a late night too (went to the movies) and then I didn’t sleep well (too much excitement before bed-time) so I’m like Estrella said in her first check-in . . . basically still asleep.

First priority is COFFEE. Then we’re going out to breakfast because we forgot to get weekend breakfast supplies. After that I’ve got a list of five stories for Milliver’s Travels that I want to get down some rough drafts for.

    Good Morning!

Did someone say coffee? I need to put a pot on, and get settled in my chair. Not sure how much I will get done today but the priority is getting as many articles written as I can for article packs.

    Have an awesome day!

    Hi Milli and fellow writers,

I love the 10K days as today it gave me the motivation to carve out a whole two hours for writing. I sent my husband off with baby Kieran (who is now 11 weeks) and have almost finished the synopsis – which feels like it is the millionth draft.

Who knows, next month I might be able to make four hours!

good luck everyone and I’ll try and check in again later x

Life tends to happen around here as much as I try not to let myself distracted by it. So I feel like I’m failing time management again. But now I’m concentrating again! *looks determined*

Nice to see everyone’s getting stuff done! 🙂

So far, it’s almost 2 p.m. and I have … 1 whole article finished! But that one article finishes off a pack so I’m happy.

I did stop for a 2 hour lunch break to watch the bike race in there, but I had planned for that. So now it’s back to work for at least a couple more hours.

Hope you’re havin’ a great day!

22.12 here! New record! 5585 words! I’m wrecked now and I go to sleep! But one day I’ll manage to reach 10k words!!!
I worked all day on my book, the second note paper is almost gone!!!
Thanks to this initiative, I’ll try next month too if I can! My books thanks too! Now I’m a bit forward!
