If you’d like to join us for one or both of this month’s 10K DaysβWednesday, Jan 18 or Saturday the 21stβyou can start here by posting your RSVP in the comments section below.
Please specify which day(s) you’ll be attending.
Next step is to prepare yourself ahead of time so you’ll have the best experience possible. Click on 10K DAYS in the menu above and you’ll find more info.
WHERE TO GO TO PARTICIPATE
ON JANUARY 18 OR 21
To participate, return to the HOME PAGE of this blog on the morning of your chosen 10K Day. (Each writer determines his/her own start time.) You’ll find a special post called 10K Day: Live While It’s Happening! and that’s where you’ll be posting your check-ins.
The Live, While It’s Happening! post will give you pointers on what to post for your check-ins.
Please leave your RSVP/comments below.
See you at the 10K! ~ Milli
P.S. For writers who are participating from overseas and who are ahead of the U.S. in their time zone: I always post the check-in page on the evening of the day before the scheduled date. So feel free to write within your own time zone and to come post your check-ins! We’ll be glad to have you warm up the page for the rest of us. π
Yay! An RSVP page is up π This alone is one of the best news for today.
I’ll try to take part on the 18th, but will most likely only really make it on Saturday, the 21st.
Can’t wait!

Estrella! Your excitement to see the RSVP page up was the first thing I saw when I opened my email this morning. Thanks for making me feel great about posting it!
Iβm so pleased youβll be here. π

I’m looking forward to this! Both days are blocked for writing on my calendar!

Hi Ladies,
Ooh, this is going to be so fun! I’m reserving Wednesday, Jan. 18th to participate in the challenge π
Hopefully we’ll have a good turnout so we can spur one another on to successfully reach that 10k word finish line! Let’s DO IT π

Hi Carole,
Thanks for the RSVP and the tweet for this event. Looks like with you joining us, the fun factor just got another injection! π

Hi Carole,
Thought I’d follow up on our friendly 10K Day challenge and post my intentions. Would love to hear yours too. π
PRIORITY ITEM (this was the thing I promised to do for our challenge)
– Add one new section to the online course I’m writing called Write Your Screenplay in 29 Days. The new section will be titled “Simple & Quick Ways For Staying Healthy During Your Marathon Writing Stretch.”
SECONDARY LIST (can only work on these after I finish my commitment to our challenge)
– 1 x blog post for the Fear of Writing Online Course
– 1 x blog post for Writer’s Muse Coaching Service
– 1 x article for the “Motivational Articles” forum in the Fear of Writing Grad Course
– 1 x blog post for the FoW blog
If I get through all that, I’ll be amazed. But I’m definitely gonna try. π
Over to you.

Hiya Milli,
Wow, that’s an impressive list of intentions you got there, great idea making it specific like this.
I have a few notes jotted down in my ‘this and that’ notebook, but haven’t had the time to work out an actual concrete list as you’ve done here. Also like the fact that you’re working on more than just one project; I need to plan my 10k writing day along similar lines.
Hmm, I think I’ll get to finalizing that ‘to do’ list later today and report back by tomorrow! π
Twitter: fearofwriting
Terrific, Carole! I’m eagerly looking forward to your 10K Day list. π
Twitter: cjtreggett
Hiya,
Alrighty-then, here’s my list of intentions for tomorrow’s 10k day. I’ll be stunned as well, Milli, if I actually get this all done! I’m going to give it the ol’ college try though π
– Write intro and the sections that need beefing up for the ebook(let)I’m writing for a new website/project I plan to launch before March.
– 3 posts for my current blog
– 3 posts for my upcoming website project
– 1 chapter of memoir I’ve recently started
I usually start my day with writing my Morning Pages (3 pages of freewriting, or ‘braindumping’ as recommended in The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron). I may or may not include this word count in the daily tally, depending on how desperate I am towards the end of the day tomorrow π

Carole, I got a huge rush of good energy seeing you post your list. Yay, us! This is wonderful.
Your list is chock-full of juicy stuff. And it looks like you have the same problem I do – your eyes are bigger than your belly. LOL! But I would rather only get part of my list done and be hungry for next time than be complacent. Seeing your list, I have a feeling you would agree with that. π
I’m really excited about your e-book and the website planned for B4 March. You MUST tell me when that gets launched. I want to see!
OK, now I’ve really got some adrenalin pumping for tomorrow. Thanks for doing this challenge with me. It just added a new layer of fun to my regular 10K approach!
~ Milli
I’ll shoot for the 18th…even if all I do is show up to cheer others on! π

Hi Lois,
Never heard you say something like that before. Are you having a dry spell? Or is it more of a time crunch thing? π
~ Milli
More of a I’ve got a lot of other things on my mind right now kind of thing. π I should e-mail you about it. I’ll try to do that soon.

No idea what’s happening work-wise at the moment, but will be here if I can, preferably for both days π

Hey, Jo. I was secretly hoping you’d appear on the RSVP page again this month. π So glad to see ya!!
~ Milliver
Looking forward to joining the group on 18 January. I will get up early and feed the birds including the birds named “Lois and Milli”. Will have a shot of moonshine ready for my muse. See you all there. John

Hi John,
Thanks for your RSVP and I’ll be thrilled to have you with us on the 18th. So glad to hear the “mascots” (Lois and Milli) will also be on hand. I’m still very honored to have one of your lovely parrots in my name. π
I hope you’ll be totin’ enough moonshine so you can share with the rest of us.

Hi John,
I’m still looking forward to having you at the 10K Day tomorrow. Let me know if you have any questions or issues about tomorrow. I’d be glad to listen.
(You can come to this blog post and click on Reply right underneath my latest comment to you and then I will receive your message by email.)

Going to do this on the 21st as roomie gets the computer all day on wed. This will help me get some projects done that I have been working on and maybe even get me ahead on my blog posts.

C U Saturday. π
~ Milli
Oh no, I almost missed it! LOL! I’m in for both days, although life’s a bit stressful tomorrow. But getting some words out again will be very refreshing!

Lisa!
Glad you can make it. And a bit o’ writing tomorrow will be better than nuttin’. Hehe.
Been meaning to get back to you re: online course choices. We can still talk about that whenever we can sync up to do that.

Hey, Milli and all you brave 10K day writers! I’ve decided just this minute to jump on board for today, Jan 18… my first 10K day.
Here’s what I hope to accomplish:
* Revise 3+ chapters of my novel translation
* Submit 1 piece to my writing critique group
* Draft two blog posts
Yikes! I better get moving.
It will be great to hear how you’re all doing and be part of the mutual encouragement.
I find it strangely creepy how I tell my best friend that tomorrow (the 21st) I want to try to write 10k. I googled a bit, and I find this. π this is exciting.

KII,
Welcome.
So cool that you found the Fear of Writing 10K Day by googling 10K.
Are you working on your 10K writing yet? If yes, please join us on the check-in page and post your check-ins every two hours or so to let us know how you’re doing. Mingling with the other participants definitely adds some extra juice to the process. π
