Yep. You can finish your book on the 10K Day and let me read it the next day. πŸ˜€

Just kidding. But you know why I’m eager. Sure hope you can make it on the 25th!!

I’d love to join in both on Wednesday and Saturday, but so far it seems like only Saturday is for sure.
My deadline for wedding favors is exactly April 25th, so I’d rather not stress myself out about making it on Wednesday or not. I’ll take it as a nice present from the Universe if I will be able to participate that day as well πŸ™‚

Estrella, sounds like the perfect plan! I’m SO glad the Saturday event will fall a few days after your wedding favors deadline. Whew. Must be a good omen from the Universe.

Here’s wishing you every success with your “heart favors” deadline. πŸ™‚

Count me in for both. I have no plans and unless something comes up I ready to kick 10K in the teeth! My Ace 10K course with Milli has got me revved up!

I plan to be here on the 25th. I’m still working on a roleplay AAU story, but I fell behind when I got sick with the flu.

    I can’t wait! πŸ˜€

Lois, I hope you’re all better by now. We need you fit and healthy for the 10K Day. You’re our mascot!

P.S. I’ve got a course now called Ace Your 10K Day. I talk about you as having set the record for busting 10,000 words the most often. And for being a great example of someone enjoying all the writing she does on the 10K Day.

So do I! I’m tired of coughing all the time! πŸ˜›

Really? That’s awesome!!! I’ll have to try for another record one of these months. πŸ˜‰ And I really do enjoy the writing I do on 10K Day!

I’ll be here both days with bells on my toes, and rings on my nose . . . uh, waitaminute. Forget the rings. Just the bells. πŸ˜‰

YIPPEE! So glad you can come on the 25th. And maybe the 28th. (Could Blogathon ATX simply become part of your word count for a 10K Day?)

I was thinking about that as well! I am volunteering in the afternoon for BlogathonATX and there will be speakers and whatnot that I will get to listen to in the morning. I’m sure I can work in some writing on the 28th πŸ™‚

OK, now I get it. It’s an all-day event where you attend in person. I was thinking it was a blogathon where everybody blogs like crazy to see how much writing they can do.

It might be too much pressure for you to try to do a 10K Day AND attend an all-day event. But if you feel like stopping in to the 10K Day check-in page on the 28th to say “Hi!” and share a little of what you’ve been learning, that would be fun. πŸ™‚

I’m going to try to do both days. This will be my first time to do an official 10K day, even though I’ve done my own 10K days in the past. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I’ve got a self-imposed deadline!

Welcome, Laura. We need all the desperate people we can get.

      (LOL! Just kidding. :D)

I’ve done 10K days by myself, too, and they’re great for productivity. But it can be more fun (and motivational) doing it with a supportive crew. I’ll be interested to hear how you like doing it here with us.

      ~ Milli

      P.S. What’s your (self-imposed) deadline for?

Thanks Milli! I always do better when writing in groups, which might explain why I kill at NaNoWriMo and suck every other month of the year.

My self-imposed deadline is a two-parter. The first part is I won NaNo last year and if I can get my novel done by June 30th, I can send it in to CreateSpace and get a free proof copy. It’ll be nice just to see it on paper.

The second part is that my summer will be full of vacations, work projects, and crazy college courses. If I don’t get it done before then, I worry that it just won’t happen. I’m so close those, about 80% done, so hopefully getting all these extra words will be a big push!

Sounds awesome, Laura. You’ve got a goal with an incentive (the free proof copy) and you’ve already eyeballed what’s coming and seen the need to do it soon. Being 80% done is awesome too.

I reckon the need to get your novel finished before your busy summer starts up might be just the push you need. I love self-imposed deadlines that actually have an outer push as well (instead of just plucking a date out of thin air).

OK, we’ll see you here next week! You sound like you’ll fit right in around here. πŸ™‚

    Hey Milli!

I’d actually forgotten about the 10k’s this month (I know, terrible but true) until Laura reminded me last night. We’re from the same “local” writing writing group in Fort Smith. So she’s getting me jump-started back in the groove. πŸ™‚

Looking forward to hanging out and getting my monthly personal writing goal up to par. (It’s 10K but since I’ve been working on several other family projects, the writing just hasn’t been there for me.)

    Write on! πŸ™‚

      Hey, Maria!

I only just now saw the email notifying me of your RSVP. I was glad to see you show up, anyway, RSVP or not, but I always love reading people’s RSVPs. So, yay!

That’s great about you and Laura being in the same local writing group. I’m glad she reminded you about the 10K day.

C U back over on the check-in page. Hope your story’s still cookin’ like gas. πŸ˜€

Alright, so for an updated RSVP πŸ™‚

I’m choosing April 28th for my 10K Day.

I have the day off, I’ll be at the Chef’s (which means my mom will leave me alone to write, and there isn’t anything I have to help out with over there) and will be able to focus well on my writing. Feeling great about this date!

However, this wedding favors order I had, which I only finished this morning, has me completely drained of all energy. Not entirely sure what to do about this as I know I don’t function well and writing does not work when I’m tired… I think I’ll have to have an open mind and allow myself to quit if it’s stressing me out this time around.

What I’d most like to feel during my 10K Day is energized. I’ll work on that with getting enough sleep, and keeping myself hydrated/fed/etc.

At the end of my 10K day I’d like to have the feeling of accomplishment around, from reaching the 10k and doing some much needed writing.

      Hey, Estrella,

Thanks for the cool RSVP update. πŸ™‚

You’ve got all the right elements falling into place, plus you’ve got YOU (special, talented, creative) so I know this Saturday will contain whatever it is you most need.

      xoxo
