Good morning. 🙂
It’s 1 a.m. and I’m just getting home from a trip to Akron. I’ll probably be starting my 10K Day much later than usual, so I just wanted to say hello to everyone participating and welcome you all here.
Happy writing! ~ Milli

Good morning, everyone 🙂
Well, thanks to Milli, I’ve had a delightful start to my 10K day. I wrote about 400 words so far using her prompt, “In the name of the law.” Well…my pen and spirit went on a little amusing adventure where I was transported back in time to that seaside arcade as my young teenage self and could record all the shenanigans. I just wanted to stay there it was so much fun!:D
But alas, I had to ‘leave’ and come back to reality and have some brekkie so I can get a move on with my other writing. Sucks to be a grown up sometimes 🙂
Wishing all a great writing day!

Carole, so fun to hear how much fun you had with the new writing prompt! That really makes my day!

Not sure where everybody is today but I’m finally get ready to get rolling with my late start. Caught up on my sleep from getting home so late, and then tore through my email as fast as I could.
Time to make coffee and start with some journaling. Can’t wait.
🙂

Good morning all!! I’m off to a late start but I am here and ready to get to some writing! Hope you all are having a great morning so far 🙂 Now let all of that creative energy FLOW!
Twitter: fearofwriting
Hi Valeka! I love how you put the word FLOW into all caps. I’m definitely not there yet … but I’m about to try some magic tricks to see if I can get there.
Hope your morning of writing is fun!
Hi everyone. I’t 10 minutes after 9:00 am pacific time. I meant to get started about two hours ago but I’m moving slowly today. “Just get started!” I’m saying to myself, so here goes! I hope you all have a productive day!
Twitter: fearofwriting
“Just get started.” I hope those plain but sometimes magic words helped you do it! Looking forward to your next update to see how it’s going for you. Best of luck!

Hi – just a quick check-in form Tunisia, where it is 5:30pm — my day got turned upside-down when my sweetie got admitted to hospital unexpectedly for more tests to chase down his mystery ailment . . . so my only writing has been on clinic forms . . . will try again Saturday!!
Wishing you all very prolific and FUN writing today!!
cheers~Paula
Twitter: fearofwriting
Oh, Paula, I’m so sorry to hear it. I hope your sweetie gets the treatment he needs to knock that greebly outta there.
Thanks for taking the time to check in with us and give your update. Here’s hoping Saturday will be luckier for you.

I did my journaling but it was flat. I’ve been so busy this week I didn’t have time to contemplate what I might want to work on today. So I’m just not in the zone or anywhere near it. But I’m going to try the following tricks to ground me and put me somewhere in the ballpark:
* Go for a walk in the park (after being inspired by Valeka’s post about urban exercise)
* Try some stacked journaling (after reading about it on @valeriestorey’s blog). Might combine this with the writing prompt about the silly police police car.
* Journal about how to merge with my creativity (after reading a post called Merging on @Wordstrumpet’s blog).
OK, off to search for my 10K Day muse. I know she’s in there somewhere. 🙂

I got off to a late start today; apparently I needed more sleep than I thought. Everything moves slow when my expected routine gets changed. I did get three pages of journaling done (first time in a month) it feels great to sort through my thoughts on paper again.
Twitter: fearofwriting
Hi Lori. 🙂
Several of us got off to a late start so you’re not out of sync in that regard. Your three pages of journaling sounds wonderful. Hope it helps you segue into your other writing plans for the day.
~ Milli
I’m still feeling a little slow, a little out of it so I’m going to take a break for lunch now. I hope that everyone is feeling more energetic than I am!
Twitter: lorigg
time for a lunch break, blog post written (but not typed, might bribe the DD to type it for me) so I can keep writing on my next idea.
Twitter: fearofwriting
Yay for getting a blog post finished! And for having a bribe-able DD so you can move on to your next writing idea. 🙂
I’m back from lunch and a walk around the block a few times. Now I’m back at the keyboard, committed to diving in; I want to make the most of this excellent opportunity today…
Twitter: fearofwriting
Andrea, sounds great! Sounds like you pulled yourself out of that initial slow place to come back more motivated. That’s always a triumph! Hope you enjoy your afternoon of writing.
Twitter: fearofwriting
I don’t have anything to report … except that this month the 10K dates fell in a week of unforeseen over-commitments of my time. I hate that! But with the help of my journaling session this morning I decided to face reality and just make the best of it.
I’ve managed to plow through a long (unavoidable) To-Do list so I can at least free up the late afternoon and early evening for some writing. Gotta marshal my energy, though. Back out on the road tomorrow. Sometimes everything just takes longer than you initially planned….
Twitter: cjtreggett
Hi Marvelous Milli!
I know you have a gazillion and one commitments lately, but still manage to lead and keep these 10k days going despite all the added work you have.
I for one am so grateful that you took the time to write and encourage us with such a fun prompt and for your constant encouragement here throughout the day, as always.
I’m hoping that you can take a bit of time today to just put all the other obligations aside and dive into some journaling and writing and get some relief and restoration from the ‘go-do-go’ 🙂

Hi, everyone! Just checking in to give an update. My writing is off to a SLLLOOOOOOW start today! I have managed about 2278 words. Not a lot but it’s better than no writing at all!
How is everyone else doing?
Twitter: cjtreggett
Hi All,
I wrote a bit after supper, so have another 430 words to add to my 2,160. I’m cross-eyed and calling it quits.
All the best to those who are continuing with their writing tonight 🙂
Twitter: fearofwriting
Congrats on all dem words! Glad you had such an enjoyable day of writing. 🙂
Twitter: cjtreggett
Oops, Valeka, don’t know how my latest update got posted as a reply to your update 😀
Happy writing trails to you!
Twitter: fearofwriting
2278 words is not too shabby. 🙂 Especially if you enjoyed it.

Checking in…I’ve had a really good time so far writing today. Had such a positive start this a.m. with Milli’s great writing prompt when I got re-acquainted with my early teen self. I continued some journaling and then this afternoon switched over to work on my ebook. I’m pretty happy with my total of 2,160 so far, not including taking a bit of a detour to scribble a few pages of notes working out a new idea/project. Feels like I wrote more than that 😀
Twitter: fearofwriting
Sounds like a good variety of writing for the day. Pleased to hear you got to work on your ebook; I hope that felt good. xo

*trudges in*
Have had a very long day, still at work, and haven’t written a single word! I’ll definitely settle in once I get home and the sun goes down, but I’m about to chase down my fifth cup of coffee so I don’t take a facer into my keyboard.
So hopefully I shall be back with more energy and more words!

Hi Laura! I had a day just like that as well. I’m too fried to write tonight like I usually do on a 10K Day, but I’ll be watching for your updates. Hope it works out for you. 🙂
I’ve only written about 1000 words today. I’m a little stuck on my story and finally had to turn the computer off, since I became so distracted by checking my favourite blogs etc. I’m now writing in longhand, which is how I should have started off in the first place. But it’s only 5:30 pm out here so I’m determined to keep going!
Twitter: fearofwriting
Andrea, good luck with the longhand! I’ll be eager to hear if that works for you. 🙂
Hi Milli. It definitely helped me to switch over to longhand. Not a good idea for me to try to spend so much time writing on the computer, especially when I have little self-discipline and internet access! Thank you so much for offering these 10K Day events.
Twitter: fearofwriting
You are very welcome, Andrea, I’m just glad you enjoy attending. That’s great about the longhand! Seems like the trick will be to remember that for next time (which I know can be challenging when the 10K Day only comes around once a month) and that way you’ll probably find your flow faster.
Hope to see you next time. ~ Milli
Twitter: danapittman
I missed it. 🙁 I’m going to try to move somethings around to join Saturday.
Twitter: fearofwriting
Awww, my favorite girl. Sorry you couldn’t be with us on Wednesday. Hope it works out for you to join in on Saturday.
xoxo!
Wishing everyone an amazing 10K Saturday!
If anyone recalls my conversation with Milli from last month, know some kind of cosmic joke is at it and making me go to not one, but two birthdays tomorrow. *sigh* Again, I wish birthdays were optional…
Twitter: fearofwriting
Estrella – Sorry about those two birthday obligations. But this time you’ll be glad to know you didn’t miss a thing. NOBODY showed up – including me!! Turns out I scheduled the Saturday 10K during a long weekend (Labor Day here in the States) and everybody was off doing something for the holiday.
Better luck to all of us with event dates, birthdays and what-have-you in September. 🙂
xoxo
Now that’s a relief. Funny how life works out sometimes though, now I can’t look at it as failing to show up when everyone else was writing hard all day 😉
Twitter: zografispaula
LOL – no you;ll have to leave your guilt at the door on this one 🙂 I think we can say this 10K was ‘rained out’ 🙂
Twitter: zografispaula
Hi — looks like nobody else has checked in today? It’s 9pm here in Tunisia, and despite my fondest hopes of writing today, life continued to intrude . . . the good news is my sweetie got released from the hospital late yesterday, and is definitely on the mend . . . so I hope to see you all next month (altho we may be moving that week !?!? eek!)
Hugs and flowing wellsprings of words to you all!
~Paula
Twitter: fearofwriting
Paula – Thanks for the check-in. I’m so glad to hear your sweetie is out of the hospital and on the mend.
Turns out nobody who wanted to be here on Saturday 9/1 ended up being here (including me). I failed to realize it was the long weekend (Labor Day) so the Saturday 10K Day was a ghost town. But hopefully we’ll be back in full flesh for September.
If we don’t see you here then, best of luck with that move!! (A local move . . . or to another country?)
~ Milli
Twitter: zografispaula
Yes, I think Labor sort of snuck up on everyone . . . of course no actual holiday here, but I work with so many folks stateside, I do try to keep track 🙂
Moving to Turkey, actually, but I plan to get you some lovely Tunisia articles before I go 🙂 I’ll be in touch.
~Paula
Twitter: fearofwriting
Turkey, cool! Sounds like I’ll luck out on Tunisia stories and then, eventually, some tales from Turkey.
Best of luck with that move, Paula. Hope it goes as smoothly as any move can hope to go.
