WELCOME TO ALL those plucky writers who are participating this week!

This is the place to post your check-ins for Wednesday, Nov 28th and/or Saturday, Dec 1st.

To learn more about this event, mouse over 10K Days in the blog menu above.

If you’re participating from overseas, feel free to start according to your own time zone. This check-in page is posted the evening before the event so you can. 🙂

DON’T FORGET TO TAKE REGULAR BREAKS!

You’ll regret it later (when you’re feeling fried) if you don’t take regular breaks. Even if you’re on fire with your writing, take your scheduled breaks.

Every two hours is recommended. Breaks are also for posting check-ins.

WHAT SHOULD YOU POST FOR YOUR CHECK-INS?

TIP: If you don’t see your comment right away after posting, try refreshing your screen.

1. You can mention your word count if you want to. If you’d rather not, please comment about your progress thus far.

2. You can also describe what you’re working on.

3. Feel free to mention how you’re feeling and how the day is going for you.

4. It’s always fun to hear what people are drinking, snacking on or listening to.

DON’T FORGET TO log out of forums, Facebook, Twitter, email, etc.

Go gettum, Tigers! – Milli

3.00pm and all is well! We had a 30 minute lunch break and got back into it, now onto our last 15 minute break break before the home stretch (the Uni library where we are working closes at 5pm).

Word counts are going up, up, up! I’m on 5372, Erin is on 6004, Tash is on 4376, Stephen is on 7712 and Rachael is on 7347.

This is such a fab idea Milli, we are definitely doing this again! The chocolate, cake and lollies (candy) are now emerging.

    Onwards and upwards 🙂

We’re starting to wind up now – it’s 4.30pm and we need to be out of the library before 5.00pm when it closes.

    Current word counts:
    Stephen – 10,025 (first to 10k!!)
    Tash – 6016
    Erin – 7601
    Renee – 7147
Rachael – typing furiously towards 10,000 (she’s about 600 words away)

Some of us intend to try to do some more when we get home, so will post individual updates if so. But if not, it’s been an amazing day, none of us have written so much or for so long in one day before and it’s been a really good experience. We’ll be back!

Good luck to those yet to start 🙂

Well, I managed to do bit more this evening, but my daughter took a while to go to sleep, and if I try to write any more now I think I will fall off my chair. Final word count 8613, and I’m feeling like I’ve ‘got’ my story and characters now. Hurray for 10k days!

    Good morning all!

It’s already been a busy morning here on the hill. Laundry, dishes, pups out the door, trash pick-up day, making plans for clearing/cleaning sections of trees for the coming year, etc,. Ah the country life. 🙂

Last night, I hit 23K just before midnight on my NaNo novel. Just 2K more to my personal best. I can do it!

To those of you who started early on the other side of the world, congratulations on your word counts! Awesome job guys. 🙂

Now it’s off to open the docs and figure what happens next in my murder mystery. Happy writing!

    I’m finally here! 😀

I have one roleplay email to answer, but it’s fictional, so I’m going to count it in with everything else. “Everything else” refers to my Nanowrimo novel, The Hunter. I’ve officially surpassed 50K, but I want to get a good word count in by Friday night. Today’s the best day for me to do that.

I’m eating split pea soup, and I’m about to have a cup of decaf. No music, as it tends to distract me (but if I were listening, I’d probably have the Japanese melodic rock band on, One Ok Rock).

Good luck to everyone. You can do it! 🙂

Thanks, Valeka. 🙂 Just shy of 2K so far, but I was doing other stuff, too. I’m about ready to hit it hard, though. I hope to get 5K by dinner time.

    Hello everyone,

I’m not participating this month (pinched nerve that gives pain to my right arm; makes computer work very uncomfortable) but I just wanted to wish you all Happy Writing.

“Hello Strangeness! Where have you been?”

“Oh, you know, there and back again.”

Milli, so sorry to hear about the pinched nerve. That’s no fun. I seem to have reached that age where muscle rub is my friend. LOL. If I sit at the computer for very long, I get stinky—as Kevin calls me.

I’m not writing much day. I’m working on edits, so whatever writing comes out of that will be what I get.

    Hope all is well.

Just checking in from lunch break…Have made it to the 24K overall mark and about to write some more before calling it a day. Hope to get another 1,000 in.

Milli, hope the arm gets better quick. It’s no fun with pinched nerves. Take care of yourself. 🙂

Well, it’s been a long day. Got lot’s of writing done (for me anyways). Final NaNo novel count = 25,174. I’ve matched my personal 5 yr best and now it’s gravy from here on out. 😀

Hope everyone has a great rest of NaNo and will catch you next time ’round. 🙂

Thanks for doing sprints with me. 🙂

Well, I’ve reached 8,127 words, bringing my novel’s official word count to 56,515. Not bad! 😀

Interesting note: a Facebook friend of mine posted this thing about tiny robots that look like mosquitoes. These things don’t exist, as far as I can tell, but they fit perfectly into my story, so I added them. Most of my writing today involved them. Haha!

And now I’m off to have dinner (Stouffer’s Five Cheese Lasagna) and spend time with my Hubby.

Hope everyone had a great day!

    ~L
