It’s 10K Day morning, it’s 10K Day morning! (Okay, it’s 11am actually, but I woke up half an hour ago, so I’m counting it as “morning”.)

For today, I decided not to count my words while writing. I just saved a text document to my desktop and will copy+paste there whenever I finish something from my list.
Said list contains a feature article, at least one travel article, blog posts, work e-mails,
and comments/FB updates/e-mails/etc. for during breaks.

Right now I’ll have breakfast and do some research for my travel article, which I’ll be writing first. I want to start with that just in case I feel like writing another one after the rest of the writing is done too.

Happy writing everyone! See you later 🙂

I loved your song to greet the 10K Day! 🙂

Sounds like you’ve got a good plan for the day. Naturally, I was thrilled to hear you were planning to start with your travel article first. Whoo hoo!

Many interruptions (“only” 6 calls from work) today, a longer lunch break and I’m not at all where I’d like to be with my writing by now.

I did finish two blog posts, so at least that’s something.

Hoping to turn the afternoon around!

I’m recovering from the flu so I decided to sleep in. Woke up at 11:15 and it took me quite a while to get moving. I’m finally here with my cappuccino, about to start with some journaling. Can’t say I feel motivated yet. I hope I catch at least a little fire today, although I don’t plan to go crazy. Don’t want to prolong the flu.

Hope you’re feeling better and better!

I’m now ending the day with a lesser word count than I care to admit, but I did fully finish the blog posts and have two drafts I have to go back to. Glad to have taken the day for writing however, I do need to put myself first sometimes (if not possible all the time.)

      Happy writing to everyone else!

It did, even if it was a day full of interruptions. The important things are that it was a day off from work to take it for myself, and writing did get done!

How did your day end up as far as writing goes?
So glad to read you felt better by evening and managed to go to dinner even!

            Glad to hear that! 🙂

I mostly took it very easy for the rest of the day while the herbal tincture kicked in and the Vit D soaked in. But Thurs and again this morning I finished the journaling I’d been trying to do. So all’s well. Plus I still have Saturday’s 10K day, when I’ll be feeling a bit better.

    Hi All,
I meant to show up a little earlier today to wish you all good luck with today’s writing and give a little check-in account, but one client request followed another…

I did manage to write 3 pages in my journal first thing this morning despite waking up feeling decidedly yuck-eh due to a head cold. Earlier this afternoon, I did sit down at the laptop and type out 432 words for an ebook project that I had been neglecting.

Happy writing to those who are stoically continuing with their writing today. Hope you feel better soon, Milli! Take care, everybody:)

      Hi Carole 🙂

Thanks for stopping in to file your report. I’m glad you got to work on your e-book project and do a little journaling, despite the head cold.

Amazingly enough, I do feel better, thanks to an herbal tincture Brian told me about called Usnea. He came home for a late lunch and I was looking very hang-dog, still in my jammies because I didn’t have the energy to get dressed. He handed me a bottle of tincture from Taos Herb and said, “Here try this.” I took two large doses, spaced apart by a few hours, and after the second dose I started feeling more energy. A few hours later, I noticed my congestion had reduced tremendously. I even managed to go out for dinner. Pretty miraculous. If you have an herbal shop in your town, see if they stock Usnea. It’s very powerful for the immune system, and it works wonders for congestion.

      xoxo

After my late-late breakfast, I managed to do another half a page of journaling but unfortunately I’m feeling so drained by the flu I had to find another strategy.

So now I’m sunning myself on the porch in my bikini, grabbing some extra Vit D for my recovery. Every so often I wander inside to add another sentence or two to my journal. I think I’ve found the right pace for today. 😀

No internet connection today meant less interruptions until after school when mom’s taxi service kicks in. I managed to handwrite some blog articles, some journaling and some speech notes. I’m estimating about 2300 words. I am happy with that result for my first writing in months. I’ll edit the articles as I tyoe them tomorrow and I’ll be ready to revive the blog by October as was one of my goals.

Lori, how awesome that you broke a dry spell and wrote 2300 words, on a day with no internet. Some good ol’ handwritten work done occasionally feels comforting.

Your goal to revive your blog by October sounds exciting! Thanks for coming to the 10K Day today.

I’m getting a very late start, and I’m still not ready to dive in yet. I need to take a shower before storms get here.

That said, I’m not shooting for any particular word count. I’m just going to freewrite until my hand starts getting achy or I feel “done” for the day.

    I can’t wait to get started! 😀

I’m finally ready to begin freewriting.

    I’ll be having a Genmai-cha tea in a few, and I’ve got an all-natural, gluten-free, GMO-free, rBST-free wild blueberry Greek yogurt.

I’ll be writing something for my McCabe Saga series. A short of some kind. Maybe something Halloweenish? We shall see–. 🙂

        September 28, 2013 | 12:49 PM

It was very yummy. So was the Creole decaf coffee I had afterward! 🙂 (And the two pieces of sausage pizza from last night were pretty good, too. ;))

And the story–well, so far I’ve only got the first part. I need to do a tiny bit of editing, since this new “gesture typing” app on my Kindle is weird, and it slows me down. It also makes some of the weirdest corrections/auto-corrections I’ve ever seen, so I am constantly needing to go back over what I just wrote to fix things so I won’t go back later and wonder what the heck I’d meant to write. 😛

Anyway, this story involves the three main characters from the McCabe Saga stories, and there are some very strange things happening–feelings of being watched by someonething, mysterious news stories that keep changing depending on who’s reading them, people being killed by someone or something with glowing red eyes. *shudders*

Needless to say, I’m having fun! 😀

And so far, I have a word count of 1,247. It’s not a lot, but it’s a start.

I hope to write it in five parts and post them to my LJ and WordPress blogs, with the last part posted on Halloween. Kind of like a mini-serial. 🙂

What is Creole coffee? Do you mean the kind with chicory in it?

            September 28, 2013 | 2:53 PM

            Thanks, Milli! 😀

Creole coffee is just coffee sweetened with molasses. It gives it a really good flavor, in my opinion. 🙂

I don’t usually count emails as part of my 10K but today I am. After the flu knocked me out for a whole week this has to be something of a work day. I pounded through a bunch of emails I need to write. Next I’ll be writing feedback for my student.

But first, these cavewoman grunts: must make cappuccino. Ugh.

    September 28, 2013 | 3:02 PM

My final update of the day here. The app I’m using really slowed me down, so I’d planned on just finishing part one of the story. I went to edit it and winded up adding a little more in the process.

I’m finishing with 1,622 words for the day and a lot of brainstorming that still needs to be done. I need to tie in the elements of part one to what happens in the next parts and, ultimately, the ending. I look forward to it. 🙂

I also need to start fixing dinner–beef and veggie stir-fry with couscous. Yum. 🙂

And this is me heading off to brainstorm/storyplan and do homey things. *whoosh*

Good luck to everyone still writing! 😀

      • Lois
        September 28, 2013 | 3:34 PM

I don’t know about faster. That will only happen if the app learns my writing style. It seems like it will take forever for that to happen. I miss Swype, and I’d totally have it on my Kindle if Amazon would allow us to download apps from Google Play. Bummer, that.

As for the writing, yeah, it’s been a lot of fun! 😀

        And thanks. 🙂

Added to the 6 pages of journaling from this morning plus the bunch of emails and I have no idea how many words that is. Oh, well.
