WELCOME TO ALL those plucky writers who are participating this week!
This is the place to post your check-ins for Wed, Sept 14 and/or Saturday, Sept 17.
If you’re participating from overseas, feel free to start according to your own time zone. This check-in page is posted the day before the USA event for that special purpose. 🙂
DON’T FORGET TO TAKE REGULAR BREAKS!
You’ll regret it later (when you’re feeling fried) if you don’t take regular breaks. Even if you’re on fire with your writing, take your scheduled breaks.
Every two hours is recommended. Breaks are also for posting check-ins.
WHAT SHOULD YOU POST FOR YOUR CHECK-INS?
TIP: If you don’t see your comment right away after posting, try refreshing your screen.
1. You can mention your word count if you want to. If you’d rather not, please comment about your progress thus far.
2. You can also describe what you’re working on.
3. Feel free to mention how you’re feeling and how the day is going for you.
4. It’s always fun to hear what people are drinking, snacking on or listening to.
DON’T FORGET TO log out of forums, Facebook, Twitter, email, etc.
Go gettum, Tigers! – Jenny & Milli
Hello, hello! 😀
I’m going to start this morning with a blog entry, then move on to freewriting (really pantsing something related to one of my myriad stories), and then do some story planning. I’ve got two novels I’m currently working on planning for. I’ll be doing that with pen and paper, so doubt I’ll get a word count — unless I decide to do it on the computer. That’s not unlikely, so we’ll see. 😉
Current music: Decyfer Down, my favorite band!
I’ve had breakfast and a hot chai. I’m going to wash my cup and then get started on the blog entry. I’ll be back around lunchtime with an update. 🙂

You’re not alone my friend. 🙂
Haha! At first, I thought I was. I hope the writing’s going well! 🙂

I forgot to check in but I’ve been writing with pen and paper this morning. For the next few hours I plan to work on an outline writing the beats–I hope to finish. I also want to get some work done on a book proposal.
I expect a low word count or none at all since I haven’t tracked.
I’ve got dinner in the pressure cooker and tea in my cup. I’m ready to get this outline done!
I’ll check in later.
I’ll be outlining soon. 🙂
That short story? Looks like it’s spawned a possible novel. 😉

That is exciting!!!
Isn’t it? 😀
It will be a thriller, though. 😉
So far, I’ve posted a blog entry (You can find it here) for 1,186 words, and the first part of a McCabe Saga freewrite, for 1,205 words (total so far: 2,391). I’m going to grab some leftovers for lunch, then get back to it. 🙂

Hello from France! I’m teaching here this week so I’m not participating but I saw the email and wanted to check in and cheer you all on! I did write almost 800 words today in between everything else. Having a wonderful time–all of you go go go with the words!
Oooh! Have fun in France!
And yay for slmost 800 words! 😀

France?! So cool. Thanks!

Charlotte, thanks for stopping in and congrats on the 800 words in the midst of your teaching. France sounds wonderful. I’d love to hear about that after you get home.

Slow writing today as I am nursing a sore shoulder and forearm on my dominant hand (plus I write longhand then edit on the computer). I did manage some journaling and some work on 2 articles. Hopefully I don’t decide to ditch them on edit. Next up some critique for a fellow writer then hopefully a short story before my evening meeting. Word count so far is an estimated 1800 words.
Yay words! 😀
Hope the shoulder and forearm feel better soon.

Lori, thanks for participating in the 10K day despite your sore shoulder and forearm. Sounds like you worked on a variety of stuff. I hope you found it fulfilling. See you next time!

I finished the freewrite. It just kept growing and growing. Haha!
This time around, I wrote 3,439 words, bringing the freewrite to 4,644 words, and my daily total to 5,830 words! 😀
Now I need to try to squeeze in a shower before storms get here (hopefully, they’ll stay north of us, but I need to get it out of the way anyway), then fix dinner. I plan to read after that.
It’s been a good day. Good luck to Dana and anyone else who’s still writing/planning/whatever! 🙂

Lois, sounds like you had an awesome 10K day. Congrats on the 5,830 words!
Thanks, Milli! 😀 I had a great 10K Day. I’d like to write again on Saturday. If I can, I hope I have a similar word count. 🙂

I finished about 80% of my outline. I am sooooo excited about the direction. I have to stop for now. But I will write a little more later tonight, hopefully. I wrote about 5k words. I finished my skeleton and most of my beats. Only a few more and I can start this new story. **I got on my dancing shoes.**
I’m off to class. Have a great evening all!
Awesome, Dana! 😀

Thank you, my friend! Take care.
