WELCOME TO ALL those plucky writers who are participating this week!
This is the place to post your check-ins for Wed, Oct 19 and/or Saturday, Oct 22.
If you’re participating from overseas, feel free to start according to your own time zone. This check-in page is posted the day before the USA event for that special purpose. 🙂
DON’T FORGET TO TAKE REGULAR BREAKS!
You’ll regret it later (when you’re feeling fried) if you don’t take regular breaks. Even if you’re on fire with your writing, take your scheduled breaks.
Every two hours is recommended. Breaks are also for posting check-ins.
WHAT SHOULD YOU POST FOR YOUR CHECK-INS?
TIP: If you don’t see your comment right away after posting, try refreshing your screen.
1. You can mention your word count if you want to. If you’d rather not, please comment about your progress thus far.
2. You can also describe what you’re working on.
3. Feel free to mention how you’re feeling and how the day is going for you.
4. It’s always fun to hear what people are drinking, snacking on or listening to.
DON’T FORGET TO log out of forums, Facebook, Twitter, email, etc.
Go gettum, Tigers! – Jenny & Milli
I’m late, but I’m here! I’ve been working out the summary for my Nano novel, and I’ve finally got the basics down. Now I just need to start lining out the major elements and other scenes.
I’ve almost completely changed my series from dark fantasy to dark urban adventure fantasy. My character is now a relic hunter, and he’s got a best bud to do it with. They’re like night and day, so there will be conflict and tension. 🙂
They’re hunting for a powerful dagger, and they’ll encounter many obstacles along the way. I need to figure out exactly what these obstacles are and in what order they’ll happen. I already know several of them, but they all happen at the temple where the dagger is hidden. I need more leading up to that point.
So off I go to brainstorm ideas! 😀
At the moment, I’m just drinking water with Celtic sea salt in it. Lunch is in about an hour and a half. Let’s see how much I can do between now and then, shall we? 😉

I am here. I started with some journal writing to loosen the writing muscles and figure out the direction of my thoughts. Then I moved on to a blog post for later this week. Next up will be either more blog articles as I am in the process of trying to revitalize it or some character work for my NaNo project.
I’ve just updated my Nano project’s webpage. You can check it out here. Add me as a buddy, and I’ll add you all back, if I haven’t already! 🙂

I’m here. I’m getting a late start but plan to write for a while.
Well, hello there. 🙂
I finished coming up with the major elements (what James Scott Bell calls the 14 Signposts) for my novel. It came to 2,412 words, but some of that was c/p’d in. I’m estimating that I got around 1,460 words for that.
Now I’m going to walk the dog and take a shower. I’ll see about doing some freewriting afterward. Don’t know if I’ll get a word count, but I plan to update on my progress, with or without that. 🙂

I am slowly writing. I’m about 4k in. I wrote several blog posts, worked on a story and wrote an email sequence.
I’m taking a break and will focus on finishing a short story this evening.
I did some freewriting after dinner, figuring out how my heroes came to meet and become friends. 845 more words. It’s not a lot, but I’m pleased. 🙂 And I’m done for today. 😉

I forgot to update. I ended the night at about 6k total. I wrote 3 blog posts, 3 emails for a new subscriber sequence, I worked on an unexpected story revision and I worked on the story I was supposed to work on for the day. LOL! I didn’t finish it but I made progress.
It was a great, productive day!
Yes, it was a very productive day! 😀
