WELCOME TO ALL those plucky writers who are participating this week!
This is the place to post your check-ins for Wed, Nov 15 and/or Saturday, Nov 18.
If you’re participating from overseas, feel free to start according to your own time zone. This check-in page is posted the day before the USA event for that special purpose. 🙂
DON’T FORGET TO TAKE REGULAR BREAKS!
You’ll regret it later (when you’re feeling fried) if you don’t take regular breaks. Even if you’re on fire with your writing, take your scheduled breaks.
Every two hours is recommended. Breaks are also for posting check-ins.
WHAT SHOULD YOU POST FOR YOUR CHECK-INS?
TIP: If you don’t see your comment right away after posting, try refreshing your screen.
1. You can mention your word count if you want to. If you’d rather not, please comment about your progress thus far.
2. You can also describe what you’re working on.
3. Feel free to mention how you’re feeling and how the day is going for you.
4. It’s always fun to hear what people are drinking, snacking on or listening to.
DON’T FORGET TO log out of forums, Facebook, Twitter, email, etc.

I am here. I started with a bit of journaling as is my habit, then moved into my NaNo novel. I figure I am at about 1100 words so far today at my first stretch break. I needed to refill my water glass.

Hi Lori, Awesome news about the 1100 words first thing in the morning from journaling and NaNo. 🙂

Another stretch break because my pencil needed sharpening and I need a cuppa tea. I hope everyone else is having a productive writing day.

I love it that you write with a pencil! I can’t remember the last time I used one. Hope the cuppa tea fortified you for more NaNo writing.

I write with pencil, then type it later and catch the glaring problems before editing with a fine tip colored marker pen. If I sit to type,I get distracted unless I have paper in front of me to transcribe.

I forgot to do my first check-in but I’ve been here for about an hour doing some journaling. Next I’ll be moving on to a new scene in my novella.
I’m super late but I’m settling into my seat. <3

Hey Ja’Nese! Happy to have you here. 🙂
Thanks!
I’m here…sort of. Just getting settled in before I start work on the last short story in my composite novel. Then I’ll start planning the next. I’ve reached 50K, but I’m not content to stop there. I need to start on the next book. Haha!

Welcome, Lois! Better late than never. 🙂 Have fun working on your composite novel today.
Jeff works second shift now, so this has become the norm for me. 😉
Thanks! On to writing! 😀

Yay! Good to see others here. I think I have crossed the 5K line already using my per page estimate. That includes the morning journal pages though so I am not done for the day as I want to get at least 5K on my novel. Time to stretch, sharpen my pencil yet again, and refill my tea cup. I still have a few more scenes pressing to get out. So back to the writing desk for me.
I have to cut it short. I crossed 5k words. I have to help with my baby’s team tonight. So, I’m shy of 10k but I’m pleased with my work today. 🙂

like Ja’nese I am taking off for the day. I have a meeting tonight that I must attend. By my per page word estimate I think I crossed the 7K mark. tomorrow I will type it to find out how much it is and update my NaNo word count. I would rather write than type but the typing only gets more overwhelming if I leave the pages stack up longer.
I’m back! 😀
I finished writing the last short story in my composite novel (novel told in short stories), Of Blood & Magic: Hunted, then I did some brainstorming and came up with a basic timeline for Of Blood & Magic: Outbreak (which I might re-name The Black Commando, since he’s much more important than the zombies, even though they are important). 🙂
So my word count for today, counting the two brainstorming sessions, is 4,221. And since the brainstorming and timeline are words I wrote this month and they’re part of the project I’m working on, I’m going to count them as part of my Nano project. I already reached 50K yesterday, so I don’t have to feel guilty for “cheating,” and I can happily consider myself a Nano Rebel. Haha! My current Nanowrimo word count is 54,254! 😀
I’m going to celebrate with some popcorn and a viewing of Iron Man. 🙂

Sounds like a productive day and a great way to celebrate the success.

I jumped at an opportunity to attend a writing workshop this morning about writing children’s stories. I came away with a rough draft of a story I had been procrastinating on. Then I attended a NaNo write In at our library. I have 12 pages to type. I am guessing about 3200 words based on how my typing of the first half is progressing. Not the 5K I aimed for but progress that I am pleased with. I think I will reach my 50K goal on Monday (the earliest yet for a NaNo)
I completely forgot to check in here today. Ooops!
I finished one short story and then wrote another, then I planned out five more short stories that I’ll be writing this month (at least that’s the plan).
My word count for today is 4,670. My Nano project is up to 65,007! 😀
