(If you skip this step you might be disappointed with your results. Our tips and tricks can really make a big difference to the kind of day you end up having.)
WHERE TO GO TO PARTICIPATE
ON APRIL 16 OR 19
To participate, return to the HOME PAGE of this blog on the morning of your chosen 10K Day. (Each writer determines his/her own start time.) You’ll find a special post called 10K Day: Live While It’s Happening! and that’s where you’ll be posting your check-ins.
The Live, While It’s Happening! post will give you pointers on what to post for your check-ins.
Please leave your RSVP/comments below.
See you at the 10K! ~ Jenny & Milli
P.S. For writers who are participating from overseas and who are ahead of the U.S. in their time zone: we always post the check-in page on the afternoon of the day before the scheduled date. So feel free to write within your own time zone and to post your check-ins. We’ll be glad to have you warm up the page for the rest of us. 🙂
I’ll be here on the 16th. I’m participating in Camp Nanowrimo this month, and I’ll take all the help I can get! 😀

Sounds awesome, Lois. Glad the 10K day can help out!

Okay, I’m holding my breath and committing to the 19th. Usually Saturdays don’t work out so well for me but so far this one is empty. Woo-hoo!
Twitter: fearofwriting
Charlotte, how fun you can try the Saturday event this month. I hope it works out well for you!
Twitter: fearofwriting
The plan so far is to be here for both days. Last month was so fun and rejuvenating, I can’t wait!
Please include me in the 10K challenge for Saturday, April 19. Thanks.

Welcome, Charlotte,
We will look forward to having you join us on the 19th.

Yay! We will have two Charlottes writing on the 19th!

That’s what I was thinking!
2 x Charlottes. Lucky deal. 😀
Oh, I’d sooo love to join you, but not this month, I think. Given it’s the week before Easter and all if might have been a bit difficult, but also I’ll be at work both days.
I do have a long weekend coming starting on May 1st, so I’ll be cramming a lot of writing time into those four days and making up for lost time 🙂
Twitter: fearofwriting
Estrella, what a bummer that you’ll be at work both days this month. But the long weekend on May 1st will make up for it! Feel free to use the April 10K day page to post your long-weekend progress reports. 🙂
Yeah, that’s what I’m aiming for: making up for these missed days on the long weekend at the beginning of May.
Thanks, I’ll definitely use this page to post my progress reports 🙂

I will be writing on Wednesday and for a bit on Saturday morning while hubby is at a car show with a photography buddy. The teens will happily ignore me on a Saturday if I am not assigning them work. Most likely they will sleep in leaving a quiet house.

Lori, sounds like you’re an expert in flying under the radar to get some writing done! 😀 See you on the 16th/19th.

My Wednesday just cleared up, so I’m going to be with you at least for the morning that day, too. Yay!
Twitter: fearofwriting
Bonus, Charlotte! Can’t wait to see what you do with *two* 10K days this month! Even a partial one can make a big difference.
Twitter: fearofwriting
I had forgotten we’ve got an out-of-town event to attend on the 19th so I will only be here on the Wednesday. But I’ll be writing about the event afterwards, so I’ll add that to my word count for this month.
This is Charlotte2, Sat 4/19 will be my first time to participate. Any tips? I’m not clear about check in times etc, but I’m really looking forward to taking part. Charlotte

Hi Charlotte2 😀
Thanks for following up on your RSVP. Great questions.
You can start your 10K day whenever you’re ready—depends whether you’re an early bird or a late riser. Generally, everybody makes an initial check-in to say “Hi, I’m here” before they start writing. After that, check-ins are recommended roughly every 2 hours—coinciding with taking a break so you don’t burn out.
There are lots of other tips available that you can read before your first 10K day. Look in the main menu underneath the typewriter image. You can start with ‘Our (Fun) Rules’ and work your way across from left to right.
If you have any other questions, feel free to post them here. I’ll be glad to assist.
See you on the 19th!
~ Milli
Ok, I see. We just keep working and check in occasionally through this comment system. I thought we had to check in at set times, but your wasy is easier. I write in my car, parked in one of several National Park nature areas I like, so I can check in when I swing by my house to take a break. I work full-time and have had a terrible time settling down to do any serious writing. I’m looking forward to this day to really get myself back on track.

I can’t wait to see whether the 10K day helps with your situation. (I admire anybody who works full-time and still makes time to write.)
Writing in the National Park nature area sounds lovely. Which state do you live in?
Twitter: wordstrumpet
Charlotte2, your description of how and where you work intrigues me and I’m so looking forward to writing with you! Charlotte1
I live in NE Ohio close to one of the least known parks, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I’m a birder and amateur naturalist and like to spend the day with a laptop propped up on the steering wheel and a pair of binnoculars on the dashboard (just in case something exciting flitters by). Wow! Small world. I’m glad I asked where you live.
We’re in New Mexico now, but we moved here from NE Ohio. I lived in Youngstown for four years. I rode the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad through the national park! So cool to know I can visualize the exact park you’ll be writing in next Saturday.
Milli
I look forward to being with everyone on Saturday!
I’m getting over a bout with a bug. For a while there, I wasn’t sure who was winning. But I think I’ve got the little virus almost beat, and expect to be back in writing form by the weekend.
I’ll be working on the second rewrite of my novel, and perhaps also working on a short story.
Can’t wait “see” you there!
Twitter: millivrstravels
I hope your bug doesn’t linger as long as mine has. I’m back into the swing of my regular activities, but the nose-blowing and horrible sounds of my coughing continues. Very draining. I’ll be glad when this bug has been banished to Outer Minojia.
On a happier note, so pleased you can join the Saturday crew for some writing and rewriting.
I feel I’ve banished a major obstacle to my writing now that all my taxes are filed. My mind is now clear and I’m really looking forward to Saturday. Charlotte2

That’s a great feeling, Charlotte2. So glad you have a clear mind for Saturday.
I won’t be here to greet you like I usually would be, but Charlotte1 and my hostess-with-the-mostess for the 19th, Leigh, are both eager to welcome you. 🙂
